Abstract: Based on the statistical data of ice-jam flood on history, analysis is initially performed on the hydrometeorological characteristics for the Nenjiang River Basin and the genesis of ice-jam flood. A forecast method on ice-jam flood is made by taking such factors contributing to the ice-jam flood into account as antecedent water storage in the early period, ice storage in channel, precipitation during winter-spring season and periods of ice breakup, intensity of temperature rise.
