Nonlinear Numerical Simulation of Shattered Process of Sea Ice

Abstract: In this paper the method is given which is the nonlinear simulation of shattering process of ice sheet. According to this method we analyze and calculate the ice load in response to diameter of pillar, thickness of ice, tensile strength and compressive strength of ice. The calculating formulas of the amplitude and the frequency of shatter load of ice sheet are given according to uniaxial strength criterion. In the end it is discussed the shatter ice load in response to difference strength criterion.
