Abstract: Ice sheets in harbors, rivers, lakes and ponds in cold regions are used for a variety of purposes. For example, tracks on the ice, roads for automobiles. runways for airplanes, footholds for the construction of structures. When using ice sheets. it is important to estimate the bearing capacity of an infinite ice sheet to ensure their safety. In this study, we show a method to estimate the bearing capacity of infinite ice sheets by graphs and charts, and we compare the bearing capacities for three types of loads.
