Damages of Ice Slush to Harbor and Navigation Works and Their Protective Heasures

Abstract: This paper describes mainly the complex ice problems faced by water transport works of inland rivers in the cold and freezing regions in North China. The ice slush have seriously threaten the safety of navigation works in min water transport charnels of the Heilong River and Songhua River and formed a huge harm. Based on summing up the experience and studying actively by the departments of design; research and engineering, various strong countermeasures and protective measures have been taken. This paper also discusses with an emphasis on the special study on the damages of navigation channel structures by ice slush in Sanxing shoal of the Songhua River and their protective measures.
