Investigation and Field Experiment of TLD Technique for Reduction of Ice-Induced Vibration on the Jz20-2 Muq Jacket Platform in the Bohai Sea

Abstract: People have been puzzled by the ice-induced vibrations since the erection of the first jacket in 1988 in the Liaodong Bay, the northern most portion of the Bohai Sea. The paper concisely introduces the investigation and field experiment of the TLD (Tuned liquid Damper) method for reduction of ice-induced vibration on the JZ20-2 MUQ jacket platform which was seriously vibrated in ice. The results of the investigation are summed up, and the main conclusions are presented.
