Abstract: Continuous observations were carried out on a platform in Bohai Sea of China during the winter of 1992-1993. The thermal and dynamical information of air and water were recorded automatically in short time interval. The characteristic of meteorology and hydrology of Bohai Sea are analysed. A radar system was used to track ice movement. The ice movement around the platform was investigated. The air and water drag coefficients were determined and the trajectory of an ice floe for three days was simulated using momentum equation and tracked by radar.
