Abstract: The problem of ice as a principal factor determining the amount of pollutants is very urgent for maintaining water quality at its required level. It is closely connected with the future life of mankind and its future generations. In this lecture I would like to discuss some other points of view on the problem connected with ice and its existence in natural reservoirs. Hydrochemical regime in a reservoir is stipulaled by natural processes occuring in it: ice formation, ice melting, evaporation and precipitation. It also depends on lhe rate of penetrating waste waters into the reservoir and accumulating the impurities there.
