Abstract: In a closed sea area, seawater pollution is progressing and the quality of seawater is becoming worse especially in deep area. There are many methods to purify seawater but most of them can hardly purify the seawater in deep area and are costly. The sustainable method is necessary for purifying seawater. One of the methods to clean the sea water in a closed sea area is the seawater purification system built in quays using the purifying function of microorganisms and the tidal energy. It is shown that this quay can be utilized in order to decrease CODMn using the tidal energy and microorganisms purifying function of seawater experimentally. The initial CODMn was set to be 8~9 by adding sugar adequately into seawater and mixing. The changing process of CODMn with time was checked by measuring CODMn according to JISK0102. It was found that this system can reduce CODMn in seawater experimentally
