Abstract: The stressed state of the ice shell is being investigated under changes of temperature with the aim of defining the magnitudes of load on the structures contacting the ice. Experimental results obtained by the author at the special stand basin and in natural conditions at the L. Baikal as well as the data of other researchers are being considered. The method of calculation definition of the thermal stresses in the thickness of the ice shell under changing temperature is offered. The obtained results coincide well with the experimental data. This allows us to define the load on structures adjoining the ice shell.
