Abstract: Icing rates and ice loads on several small ship components are examined. A new time-dependent version of the University of Alberta integrated ship spraying/icing model was used to simulate heavy and light icing conditions. The icing rates and ice loads on ship components were monitored while icing was progressing. The results should be of interest to scientists modelling icing of ships and to naval architects.
