Abstract: Natural investigations on the experimental Usadyevsky catchment with the use of the information-mapping analysis allow to obtain the method for snow storage calculations. Snow distribution is simulated in the form of digital maps of local snow accumulation coefficients (LSC) values in the cells of a regular grid. Calculation is done with the use of theoretically based relashionship of LSC and conventional rang of cell features of a catchment surface which includes the information on snow accumulation capacities of relief and landscape. Heat balance equation for snow cover is the base of snow melt experimental investigations. The method of its components determination comprises the measurements of radiation fluxes as well as calculations of sensible and latent heat fluxes in the surface boundary layer based on Monin-Obukhov model. Regularities of snow melt intensity distribution on a field catchment is analized by calculating solar radiation income to differently oriented elements of relief.
