Abstract: Vertical structures are often placed in ice environments where they are subjected to ice action. Under certain conditions, they vibrate as a result of interaction with a moving ice sheet. Various theories and concepts have been proposed to explain ice-induced vibration. A review of the literature on this subject is presented here.
