Abstract: Diameters of frazil disks were measured during a general study of ice growth in a laboratory cold room. Experiments were performed at air temperatures of -2, -5, -10 and -20°C. The maximum diameter measured was 6.65 mm, but median values for each experiment are used in this report, as being more representative of normal results. Two equations for calculating Nusselt numbers are developed, and the Nusselt numbers are plotted against Peclet numbers for comparison.
