Abstract: Simulated structures mounted on a portable apparatus were used to investigate ice forces on marine structures. Various geometric shapes of simulated structures or piles were pushed against natural lake ice. Parameters varied were size, shape, pile velocity, friction, initial pile-ice contact and slope of the pile.
