Abstract: The threat posed by landslide-induced tsunamis to human society and the environment is a significant concern due to their potential to cause disasters such as run-up of water surfaces and overtopping of dams. This study investigates four distinct scenarios of landslides, including rigid submarine, rigid subaerial, deformable submarine, and deformable subaerial landslides, and their resulting tsunami waves. A framework based on smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) that can simulate both types of landslides is utilized for the simulations. The multiphase SPH model is validated using four experiments to assess its effectiveness and accuracy in reproducing complex tsunami wave behavior induced by landslides. The results of this study provide valuable insights into the impact of landslide-induced tsunamis and offer a useful tool for predicting and mitigating their effects.
