Abstract: Hydrodynamic models play an increasingly crucial role in digital twin basin systems, particularly in the context of flood risk forecasting and assessment. The accuracy of hydrodynamic model is of utmost importance as they are utilized for early warning and intervention measures to ensure civil protection. In this study, auto calibration of TELEMAC-2D model was carried out with in-situ water depth data using a 3DVAR-based assimilation algorithm. Prior to the auto calibration process, sensitivity analysis of TELEMAC-2D model and 3DVAR algorithm were performed to determine the optimal geometry mesh resolution and 3D-VAR parameters. The assimilation process was carried out with observation data from the flood event in July, 2023.
