Abstract:

The determination of the ice load patch affects the accuracy of ice load identification, and it is difficult to obtain accurate information on the height of the ice load patch during actual measurements. Aim at the characteristics of the ice-induced shear strain response, an improved influence coefficient matrix method is proposed. Based on a typical stiffened plate, corresponding numerical verification cases and scaled model tests were designed. The results show that the ice load recognition method based on shear strain distribution can accurately identify the height and magnitude of the ice load patch. In addition, the influence of the number of gauging points on the identification accuracy was studied, and optimal gauging points layout designs for different polar class ship structures were explored, providing a reference for the design of local ice load monitoring schemes of ships navigating in ice zones.
