Abstract: This study presents the framework under evaluating flood susceptibility in Cyprus using a co-participative multi-criteria decision analysis approach. Cyprus, facing challenges from its semi-arid climate and limited freshwater resources, experiences distinct climatic and diverse rainfall patterns conducive to flooding, particularly in lowland areas due to intensified precipitation events. Collaborative efforts with local stakeholders, including experts and community leaders, guide the mapping process, ensuring validation by national authorities and incorporating diverse perspectives. Initial analysis identifies parameters crucial for understanding flood phenomena, informing future flood prevention strategies. Ongoing work focuses on compiling additional parameters and validating results through stakeholder workshops, integrating historical flood events to refine policy decisions for effective flood management.
