Abstract: This study focuses on the analysis of the wave propagation and consequent inundation affecting the beach area near the Volturno pine forest (Southern Italy). To this aim, a wave-resolving model (FUNWAVE-TVD) and a short range (SR) K-band radar are used, and their qualitative results are compared, with the purpose of showing the SRK-band radar potential in reconstructing the wave field in the nearshore area.
