Abstract: The construction of climate resilient and nature inclusive maritime infrastructure require innovative technologies and materials, and novel design considerations beyond the mandatory industry standards. In recent years, there has been a growing interest among ports and coastal stakeholders and engineers to integrate ecologically-engineered-structural solutions into the designs of port and coastal infrastructures. In this context, ECOncrete has partnered with several ports globally to demonstrate how eco-engineering technology can be used as Nature-Inclusive Design (NID) solution to promote the creation of diverse marine habitats as an integral part of Port coastal and marine infrastructure to increase their ecological value and mitigate impacts.
