Abstract: With rising computational resources, small catchments can now be fully modeled with a hydrodynamic model incorporating the hydrological processes and do not need an external coupling to a hydrological model. In this study, the 2D Finite Element solver of the openTELEMAC system is used to model the resulting flood event of a 100-year rainfall with a duration of four hours in an ungauged German catchment with an area of approximately 58 km2. For the rainfall-runoff process, the included SCS-CN method is applied. A small sensitivity analysis shows that the CN values are very sensitive, and the Strickler roughness values are less sensitive.
