Risk Management in Ports and Coasts Based on Water Sustainability

Abstract: Based on the analysis carried out on the importance of water sustainability as the main means of health and well-being for human life, as well as the sustainable development of ecosystems which provide different environmental services and are an essential component of all subsistence of life on this planet, it is a priority to establish the necessary measures for comprehensive and fair management for all members of the communities. This paper proposes a series of measures based on sustainability and water management strategies from the continental part and the impact they have on coastal areas, which allow for an agile and efficient determination of the main risks described above to establish effective prevention and mitigation plans in the southeast Mexico.
