Abstract: Due to the erosion problems in coastal areas, structural measures based on infrastructure works such as groins or breakwaters are commonly used, which modify the environment and use materials foreign to the ecosystem, which can cause adverse effects. Therefore, a proposal was made to use rewilding as an alternative measure based on green and sustainable technologies that support a project to reduce the size and impact of the structures, such as the use of marine vegetation as a potential measure to mitigate the effects of seabed erosion in areas adjacent to the breakwater and as energy dissipators that allow a decrease in the energy of the waves and currents that form in sites where areas prone to erosion have been identified.
