Abstract: This study presents the effect of the sloped bottom on an inclined dense jet in a stationary environment. Concentration fields were measured for three discharge angles (α=30°, 45°, 60°), four bottom angles (β=0°, 1°, 3°, 5°) ), and three jet densimetric Froude numbers (Fr=17.3, 22.1, 28.1), and a total of 36 experiments using Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF). The geometrical and dilution information were collected. Brine accumulation was observed around the impact (impingement) area, which was more significant on the sloped bottom and with larger discharge angles. The impact point location is also extended on the sloped bottom. A fitting function was developed to predict impact point locations under varying slopes and discharge angles. This study provides valuable insights into the effect of a sloped bottom on inclined dense jet mixing, with significant implications for outfall system design.
