Application of Algebraic Wall-Modeled LES Approach for Simulation of Jet Pumps

Abstract: The present study numerically investigates the internal flow field of a water jet pump using the Algebraic Wall-Modeled Large-Eddy Simulation (AWMLES) model. The complex interactions between the primary and secondary flows are discussed using the captured coherent vortical structures. Comparison of the simulated total pressure profiles with experimental data shows good agreement, demonstrating the promising capabilities of scale-resolving approaches in predicting key flow features in jet pumps.
