Abstract: The pollution caused by discharges due to the overflow of the sanitation network during heavy rainfall episodes can have a significant impact on the public hydraulic domain. Thus, it is necessary to conduct a diagnosis by reproducing the hydraulic behavior of these infrastructures in such scenarios. A methodology based on IBER (2D) and ANSYS (CFD) software has been employed for this purpose. Depending on the characteristics of the infrastructure, one software or the other will be used. Additionally, experimental measurements, mainly obtained by introducing sensors into the actual infrastructure, allow for the creation of a model that is as close to reality as possible. From the development of these models, it is possible to define the inflow rate at which relief occurs, as well as calculate the relieved flow, which are the desired results of the analysis.
