Abstract: The key counties and towns are the focus areas of investigation and evaluation of mountain flood disasters at this stage. The research of flood inundation analysis conducted on the key counties and towns is beneficially promoted to scientifically guide the prevention and control of mountain flood disasters. Taking the Xinglong Community in Guanba Town, Chongqing City as the research object, this study carried out the flood inundation simulation based on the HEC-RAS two-dimensional unsteady flow model, and this simulation results were compared with existing research findings. The 5-year, 20-year, and 100-year flood inundation risk maps were drawn by the ArcGIS, and the corresponding disaster situations were counted. The results indicated that the HEC-RAS model was reasonable and effective for flash flood inundation simulations, flash flood warnings, and flood prevention and disaster mitigation in urban and rural areas.
