Impacts of Climate Change on Flood Control and Management Projects for Important Tributaries of the Hanjiang River Basin and Adaptive Choices

Abstract: Climate change will lead to regional economic losses and bring uncertainty to sustainable regional development. The purpose of climate risk management is to ensure the achievement of expected investment outcomes and to reduce the possibility of making wrong decisions. This paper analyzes the characteristics of climate change in the Hanjiang River Basin and the project area, predicts future climate change in the project area, and analyzes the impact of climate change on flood control and management projects for important tributaries of the Hanjiang River Basin. It also analyzes their climate sensitivity and proposes adaptive choices to ensure the achievement of expected project investment outcomes and reduce the likelihood of decision-making errors.
