Abstract: In the context of the Yangtze River protection, the contradiction between the development, utilization and protection of the shoreline resources in Dongting Lake is becoming increasingly prominent. As an important storage lake in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, Dongting Lake is affected by the joint scheduling of the stall reservoir group, the trend of lake channeling and river channel shoaling has intensified, the shoreline has changed high frequency and significant, which leads to the complicated information monitoring and extraction of the shoreline. This paper uses edge detection, image segmentation, machine learning, combined with artificial intelligence and big data analysis based on high-resolution multi-source remote sensing images to build high-precision and fast automatic identification and extraction technology of shoreline and spatial features, realizing intelligent interpretation and feature extraction of various target information such as shoreline, buildings, land and vegetation in high-definition images. The experiments show that the method proposed in this paper is effective for the intelligent extraction and change analysis of shoreline and surface features in Dongting Lake area. It provides technical support for automatic supervision and the development, utilization, protection of the waterside shoreline. Selecting high-resolution multiple temporal images in the Dongting Lake area from 2013 to 2023 as the data source to verify the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper. The experiments show that the method proposed in this paper is effective for the intelligent extraction and change analysis of shoreline and surface features in Dongting Lake area. It provides technical support for automatic supervision and the development, utilization, protection of the waterside shoreline.
