Abstract: This study explores the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into the remote monitoring and automated management systems of dam reservoirs. It identifies the existing challenges in dam reservoir management and examines the potential of IoT for facilitating real-time data acquisition, remote supervision, and automated control. Experimental findings indicate that the average sensor data transmission delay is 100.23 milliseconds, as measured during real-time data tests. System stability assessments over a 720-hour period reveal an average packet loss rate of 0.50% and a failure incidence rate of 1%. Evaluations of management efficiency and security enhancements demonstrate that the IoT management approach reduces weekly working time by 30.2 hours, a 25% decrease from conventional methods, and slashes response time to 10.1 minutes, a 67% reduction. Additionally, the number of monthly alerts increases to 5, compared to only 2 under traditional methods. The data presented underscores the efficacy and dependability of IoT technology in enhancing dam reservoir monitoring.
