Abstract: Sea wall is a coastal defense structure which safeguards the land behind from storms and coastal water entering it. These structures are present at shoreline where the sea bed falls in shallow water region which makes these structures exposed to higher waves and impact as wave breaking and shoaling phenomena is prominent at shallow water region. During storms, harsh wave climate is experienced leading to wave overtopping over the sea wall. Wave overtopping amount should be reduced as much possible so that the coastal water intrusion into the land behind is avoided. In order to serve this purpose a lot of sea wall profile is suggested. A new type of sea wall namely Flaring Shaped Sea wall (FSS) and a Recurve wall is under research. This paper is an attempt to study the behavior of these two types of wall. In this study, an evaluation of run up and overtopping rate has been carried out for FSS, Vertical Wall (VW) and a Recurve on a vertical wall under the influence of Solitary waves. Further, the comparisons between the wave pressure and wave kinematics are studied and reported. This has been carried out using a numerical simulation based on Naviers Stokes Equation (NSE). The NSE is solved based on the newly improved meshless method namely Improved Meshless Local Petrov Galerkin method with Rankine Source (IMLPG-R).
