Abstract: A break water of Hon La Seaport has been broken by “Sontinh” typhoon in 2012 during the construction time while the crest level of dam was not meet the design level even thought the out layer of dam was built. That is a good lesion to be learned for designers and constructors in coastal Engineering as well as managers in Vietnam.
