Abstract: The Nakdong River Estuary Barrage (NREB) was constructed to prevent saltwater intrusion to the upstream channel by tides and to provide sustainable water supply. In these latter days salinity intrusion to the upstream channel is become an object of public concern. Although the causes of the fluvial environment changes are indicated in many researches, more sufficient scientific investigations are required. The purpose of salinity intrusion due to numerical simulation is analysis for saline intrusion to the upstream channel in NREB and to understand characteristics of salinity intrusion and its relations with fresh water discharge and tidal fluctuation in the Nakdong River. In this paper we re-evaluate hydrodynamics and situation of salinity intrusion into Nakdong River without NREB by using mathematical model ECOMSED. Studying of conditions about intrusion occurs or not could more efficiently prevent salt intrusion. And we re-examine the length of salt intrusion. And we could provide the fundamental data for the maintenance and management of the NREB. Comparison is also
