Abstract: This study deals with the investigation of the rainfall-runoff relation of a watershed in Western Black Sea Region, Turkey. The aim is to perform a hydrological assessment for a watershed located near Bart? n city. The basin is very mountainous and forestry with increasing urbanization. The hydrological parameters of the basin are likely to be altering due to possible changes in climate and precipitation patterns. Land-use/cover changes owing to human activities and urbanization in the area also contributes to these conversions. Therefore, hydrologic modeling of the watershed is performed using HEC-HMS to assess the hydrologic behavior of the basin. Two storm events are applied to calibrate and validate the model. The simulations are found to be encouraging considering that these are the preliminary results of an ongoing research which is a pioneering attempt of using such model for the area.
