Abstract: LOICZ model is applied to the complex system of Burgas bay in order to assess the water and salt budgets and transport of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus and to quantify the exchange fluxes between port aquatorium and adjacent zone. Main input data are obtained during field campaign in the port aquatorium by ECOPORT 8 project. Two distinct seasonal periods are considered: low and high salinity. Exchange with the offshore waters is found to be the main mechanism for water renewal. During the year the system always exports nutrients however it alters from autotrophic to heterotrophic stage.
