Abstract: Seven different formulas were validated with natural data to determine the stagedischarge relationships of compound channels. The analysis of the data result in recommendations on formulas that fit the data well over a wide range of discharges and geometric dimensions of compound channels. Ranges of remarkable deviations of measured and calculated values are localized and possible reasons of the deviations are given.
