Abstract: Simulation of turbulent flow in a wide rectangular open channel with a vegetated rectangular domain at the channel corner is discussed in view of new experimental data. A phenomenologic model, imbedded in an algebraic stress model with vegetation acting as an internal resistance that produces energy of turbulence and interferes with its anisotropy and length scale, was used. The new evidence suggests also interference with the pressure-strain correlation.
