Abstract: In order to compensate the exclusion of large flood plain by construction of main levee along left bank of the Tisza River, and to increase discharge capacity of the river reach with sharp bend, the solution of cut-off, as flood relieve channel, was studied. Due to complex flow conditions, especially in the sharp bend and in zone of branching, a physical and numerical models were used. The results of mentioned studies are considered in the paper.
