Abstract: Heated water mixing discharged from submerged multiport diffuser was analyzed using the three-dimensional grid-based numerical model. The discharge momentum flux is incorporated properly into this model by concept of numerical slot diffuser with multi-jet theory. Line patch to impose discharge momentum flux that plays an important role in heated water mixing discharged from submerged multiport diffuser in near field was introduced. Experimental cases which deal with discharging heated water by diffuser in shallow ambient water with crossflow are conducted and the results are compared with the numerical results. The agreement of numerical results and experimental data is reasonably good.
