Abstract: In the paper an algorithm for river bank failure integrated in a two-phase morphodynamic framework is presented. A triangular non-staggered mesh is adopted for the numerical integration of the model. The proposed approach allows for the univocal definition of the slope in each cell. The geofailure operator guarantees that when in the cell the bed slope exceeds a critical angle, all the bed material and pore water exceeding that slope will change its state becoming part of the bed transport and will then follow the dynamic equations of the two-phase flow. Effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated by the numerical reproduction of some literature experimental tests.
