Abstract: The presence of halite karst systems in dam reservoirs is normally an important source of pollutants for the water resources. The dissolution and salinity distribution of karstic components is dependent to some hydrologic and hydrodynamic parameters. In the present study, the influences of effective parameters such as dissolution rate, air temperature, discharge and relative humidity on the water quality of dam reservoirs were studied using a versatile finite volume tool ‘MIKE’ while carrying out a wide range of sensitivity numerical analysis. In all cases, salt concentration values were determined for different time periods. Some scenarios are proposed to undermine the effects of the salinity problems. It is believed that the proposed scenarios can be conceptually applied in the similar cases.
