Abstract: It is of great significance to propose scientific and rational regulation and management measures to strengthen the scientific management of water environment. Real-time control of the water environment management system has become an important means of water environment monitoring and management. In this paper, a real-time water environment management system was developed and applied in Beiyun River water environment management. The overall framework of the system and the integration methods were discussed. The system used visualization platform based on GIS as overall integration interface, monitoring network as input. All the spatial data, attribute data, monitoring data and calculation result were stored in database. Several numerical models were integrated in the system, such as river pollution input load model, river water environment model, water environment carrying capacity and dynamic regulation model, with these models, the developed system can realize real-time simulation and visualization of pollution spatial and temporal distribution. Meanwhile, the system can also be used to simulate different kinds of water environment conditions and regulation schemes, and helps people to realize meticulous management. The water environment management system developed in this paper has been applied in the water environment management of Beiyun Canal.
