Abstract: This paper describes an enhanced design of Floating Gates for C-1 Navigation Pass, which is a part of St. Petersburg Flood Protection Barrier; this enhanced design of Floating Gate provides their stable behaviour during landing on the sill with a considerable water level differences. Proposed design enhancement of Floating Gates for C-1 showed their high effectiveness on the basis of experiments conducted on the section and spatial models, allowable water level difference was increased at least by twice for the most dangerous positions of floating gates when they are close to the bottom.
