Abstract: While dealing with a real time flood forecasting system with many gauges and digital data there are many technical aspects to consider for flood risk assessment and warning procedures which are subject to a limited amount of time, usually a few hours in flash flood catchments, in addition, due to the short forecast time and topographic uncertainties several mathematical models of water propagation for fine resolutions should be integrated and be ready for an immediate use. These issues associated with their selected hydrologic and hydrodynamic mathematical models over irregular topographies are addressed.
