Abstract: A considerable part of the total area for construction in the Republic of Armenia appears to be in complex soil conditions, while requirements to be met for contemporary construction are ever-growing, particularly in a country located in a zone of seismic activity. This makes it necessary to apply precise construction techniques that ensure a high reliability and longevity of structures. Over the recent years, construction of different structures is widely underway in soft water-saturated clay grounds. Soft water-saturated grounds include water-saturated forest soils, tape clays and other water-saturated soils, condensability of which is characterized by the module of total deformation equal or lower than 5 MP. In most cases, construction of reservoirs is carried out not on convenient, reliable, and waterproof soils, but on non-watertight and strongly filtering soils. Even in small reservoirs we can see sites with several types of nonfavorable soil conditions such as: piping-subsidence, veins of big fragments of solid rocks, strongly filtering coarse-grained sands, fractured grounds, etc. In such cases, it is reasonable to conduct research of all foundation soils and establish their condensability and solidity. To improve the solidity of foundations of structures, often discharge of fixative solution or another liquid is performed, which on the one hand decreases porosity and penetrability, and on the other hand it brings to improvement of the bearing capacity of the foundation. To improve the bearing capacity and decrease the filtration capacity of porоus-fractured rocks, usually discharge through the aperture of fixing solution.
