Abstract: The flow fields around a spur dike in clear Water investigated experimentally by using 2D velocimeter. The experiments have done for three various situations (300, 45°, 60°) of spur dike in a 90 degree bend. For each set of experiments flow measurement has done from section 20 degrees before to section 20 degrees after the spur dike. In addition, bed topography has taken in all specified points. Shear stress and primary vortex and flow behaviour are presented in this paper. Interaction between flow field and bed topogeraphy variations is investigated. This investigation will help researchers for better understanding of scouring phenomenon near the spur dikes.
