Abstract: Pumping station with branch-typed approach channel used to discharge in one branch and the other branch was closed. All the inflow must be veered. So the obviously drift in fore bay will do harm to the operation of the works. In this paper, model experiment was used to study the hydraulic characteristics of branch-typed approach channel and the modification of flow pattern as to average the current velocity in fore bay.
