Abstract: The deficiencies of the current computer MACSYM adopted in hydraulic model tests are analyzed and the principles as well as the technical characteristics of computer long-range I/O control are introduced in this article. The application of computer long-range I/O control technology in the long-range scattered MACSYM for the large-scale hydraulic model tests based on the RS-485 industrial control networks as well as change of the analog communication of current MACSYM into digital communication are put forward in this article.
