Abstract: Debris flow frequently happens in small scale drainage basin with great capability of sediment transportation. The strength contrast of dynamic action between debris flow and river definitely determines fluvial process and accordingly develop into two kinds of fluvial mode. The first mode brings about extensive deposition in riverbed, such as Xiaojiang Ravine. The second one takes shape in riptides and dangerous shoals in river, so the planar conformation of river transform on local segments, such as Jinsha River. Taking an example by Xiaojiang River, this paper mainly investigates fluvial process of mountain rivers in the areas of debris flow frequently occurring and aims to explore the situation of debris flow has power over river.
