Abstract: After the Three Gorges Project (TGP) being put into operation, its reservoir area will experience alternate-siltation and erosion. In this paper the relationship between sedimentation and the reservoir operational schemes is analyzed based on a 1-D numerical model. The result shows that the amount of deposition has a close relationship with the flood control level (FCL). The dams constructed in the upper reaches of the Changjiang River have a significant impact on the characteristics of reservoir sedimentation of the TGP.
